Financial Controller

People’s Pharmacy Ltd. is seeking applications for the role of Financial Controller. This position will be a member of the senior management team and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This role will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the finance department and will be a business partner to the department managers, pharmacists, and operational teams.

A summary of duties is listed below:
  • Oversees the timely completion of weekly and month end reporting processes for all operating sites.
  • Prepares and analyzes site and departmental profitability reports.
  • Prepares and presents financial results at monthly meetings to retail department heads, pharmacists and business operations as needed to improve business performance.
  • Accurate weekly, monthly, and annual cash flow forecasting and treasury management.
  • Delivering the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts.
  • Managing the external audit review process and preparation of annual accounts.
  • Heavily involved in implementation of new ERP/POS systems.

Qualifications, skills, and experience required for the role includes:

  • The successful applicant must possess a CPA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ managerial accounting and financial management experience.
  • Prior retail experience working in a fast-paced environment is a must.
  • Excellent working knowledge of financial and database management systems.
  • Prior inventory accounting and gross margin analysis is required.
  • Prior systems implementation experience.
